In a highly anticipated game, the Calgary Calgary team came out on top with a decisive 6-2 victory over the Southern Alberta Alberta. The game took place at the Canmore Recreation Center on October 12, 2025, and saw Calgary outshooting Alberta with 47 shots to Alberta’s 32.
Despite their best efforts, Alberta’s powerplay fell short at 0/2, while Calgary capitalized on their opportunities, scoring on 2 of their 5 powerplay chances. Goalie Gage Collie of Alberta was kept busy all game, facing 47 shots and making 41 saves. On the other side of the rink, Calgary’s Ryan Rowley faced 32 shots, making 30 saves.
Alberta’s only goal was scored by #10 Tyson Tozer, while Calgary’s #6 Maksym Onatskyi had an impressive game with 3 assists.
The Southern Alberta Alberta team will have a chance to redeem themselves in their next game, a home match against Calgary on Friday, October 17 at 8:00pm at the Stavely Arena.
